Hailed as ‘thrillingly evocative’ by the Chicago Tribune and a ‘rising star soprano’ by Korean newspaper Dong-A Ilbo, Korean-Australian soprano Gemma Nha is a soloist at Volksoper Wien. Gemma’s repertoire ranges from Mozart to contemporary musical theatre, singing roles such as Gilda, Pamina, Adele, Maria West Side Story and Wendla Spring Awakening. Gemma trained at Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Juilliard School, and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She won First Prize at the Seoul International Music Competition, was a National Semifinalist of the Laffont Metropolitan Opera Competition, and a two-time finalist of the Lotte Lenya Competition.
